an $85.1 million jump from 2008 -- even as the U.S. economy struggled to recover from the Great Recession.

Topping the list: Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., who was worth at least $188.6 million in 2009, up more than $20 million from his minimum net worth the previous year. (What's with this minimum stuff? Lawmakers report their assets in broad ranges only; The Hill's analysis uses the low number in the range and then subtracts their liabilities to arrive at an estimate of lawmakers' net worth.)

Kerry derives much of his wealth from his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry. She is the widow of late senator John Heinz, R-Pa., a ketchup heir

No. 2: Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., arch-nemesis of the Obama administration, who was worth at least $160.1 million

Too busy to vote for unemployment benefits.

Too busy to provide health care to Americans who don't have a hundred and sixty million.

Not too busy to send boys overseas to die.

Not too busy to save Wall Street.

Saw this comment from SHM referring to the MSNBC backed Free Clinic staffed with volunteers in New Orleans:

“good point...Keith and MSNBC keep backing the Free Health Clinics and unfortunately they keep getting large turnouts. They did raise $320k in 24 hours to help support the clinic with none of the money going into Keith’s pocket….a much different effort and more in line with Honor if you ask me.”

Referring to Beck's "God" rally, which, of course, paid the guys expenses. After all, he barely makes 32 million dollars a year.

And referring to Sean Hannity's Freedom CONcert Scam: Almost None of Charity's $ Went to Injured Troops.

Why this enormous divide between the rich and everyone else? Don't they have ANY responsibility? Do they see America as just one big opportunity to scam?

Actually, the Republicans are for the rich.
Yes, many Democrats have money, but they want to help the middle class, and the less fortunate.

Bullshit, both parties are for the rich. Why do you think John Kerry's wealth increased? His company Heinz food raised prices on food for us citizens & then handed out food-stamps paid for by us to make sure that the poor could keep buying it so he could make record profits.

They pass laws & taxes to keep us in the poorhouse but include loopholes so only their friends benefit.

Politicians are only there for themselves. If the fact that 27 of the 50 richest Congressmen and Senators are Democrats does not prove that to you you are completely hopeless.

Actually,k he is saying that politicians only help themselves, which means they only care about getting re-elected. That is why both parties really only care about the rich, because the middle class cannot give them more money.

Far be it from me to interpret Oddball's words but I think he's trying to, politely, tell you that you are a fucking idiot. Unfortunately, you're too much of a fucking idiot to understand it.

4% of the people in this country own 96% of the wealth.

Reagan and the two Bushes reduced taxes for the rich and passed the debt on to the middle class. Then their friends on Wall Street stole what was left.
