Quality Counts 2016: State Report Cards Map

year in a row, Massachusetts finished first. Long a fixture of the top five, the Bay State beat its own 2015 result, raising its grade from a B (86.2) to a B-plus (86.8). Although New Jersey (85.1), Vermont (83.8), and Maryland (82.7) all received grades of B, Massachusetts was the only state to score a B-plus.

Nevada ranked last in the 2016 report, with a grade of D and a score of 65.2. The two other states earning Ds were Mississippi (65.6), which ranked last in 2015, and New Mexico (65.8). The majority of states (33) earned midrange grades between C-minus and C-plus.

Between the 2015 and 2016 reports, the District of Columbia experienced the greatest change. The jurisdiction leapfrogged 10 spots, from 38th to 28th in the nation, as its grade increased from a C-minus (70.0) to a C (72.9).

Well categories like spending on education show its a joke.

Parental employment, wtf is this shit?

The categories have nothing to do with what kids are learning.

Most of these are economic indicatori where red states get target by having large black populations.

In other words it means jack shit.

OMG.. not this stupid shit again...

Maryland?

You can definitely thank red counties for that one. Baltimore is an absolute disgrace.

New Mexico and Nevada are currently controlled by Democrats.

Where are the dumbasses of Hawaii and California on that list btw?

In other words it means jack shit.

On the contrary, corporations look at the education levels of the workforce when deciding where to locate businesses. They want a well educated computer literate workforce to run modern largely robotic plants.

The education levels of the local workforce isn't the only factor, energy costs, transportation infrastructure, and state workplace regulations also factor into these decisions but good schools are a priority because that's an area management workers will require in order to want to hire on with these corporations.

I dont disagree but he wasnt making that case. He was questioning knowledge, which has nothing to do with your parents income or money for the school.

SUCK IT dimocraps. And Trump was a weak candidate.

You lost and all you can do is cry about it.

Keep it going. 2018 might just finish your party off permanently.

Been warning you about it for a couple years in here. I'm warning you now -- Get it together or face becoming extinct.

But you won't listen. YOu never have. You never will.
