....But in a debate that has focused largely on women, this fact is often overlooked: the majority of service members who are sexually assaulted each year are men.
In its latest report on sexual assault, the Pentagon estimated that 26,000 service members experienced unwanted sexual contact in 2012, up from 19,000 in 2010. Of those cases, the Pentagon says, 53 percent involved attacks on men, mostly by other men....

Thomas F. Drapac says he was raped on three occasions by higher-ranking enlisted sailors in Norfolk in 1966. He said he had been drinking each time and feared that if he told prosecutors they would assume it was consensual sex. Parts of his story are corroborated in Department of Veterans Affairs records.
“If you made a complaint, then you are gay and you’re out and that’s it,” he said.
Mr. Drapac, 66, said that over the coming decades he kept the rapes to himself, combating recurring nightmares and doubts about his sexuality with alcohol and drugs. But he began seeing a Department of Veterans Affairs therapist several years ago, and decided to tell his story recently after seeing accounts of female sexual assault victims.... http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/24/u...e-overlooked-victims.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

According to the new Pentagon data
, there were nearly 6,000 victims of reported assaults in 2014, compared with just over 5,500 last year, or an increase of about 8 percent... According to the Pentagon survey, 10,500 men and 8,500 women said they experienced unwanted sexual contact.

This is bad. We need to confront the silent epidemic. The actually have numbers saying male sex assaults on males is high. Yet they also acknowledge that men tend to withold reports of sexual abuse in about half the incidents...close to that number. So you can actually pretty much double the numbers for the men.

Afraid to be seen as victims or as weak or gay, men in the hyper-masculine military culture often don't feel comfortable reaching out for help or reporting sexual assaults. Over the past year, though, the services have increased efforts to reach out to male victims, urging them to come forward so they can receive treatment and so officials can go after perpetrators...Male Military Sex Assault Victims Slow to Complain - US News

If you are out there and a victim, you must report what happened to you. Silence only perpetuates the violence.

The cannon fodder aren't known for their morals. If they're worth a damn they kill who we tell them to, or die trying. That's what we pay them for.

So in your opinion they should just take the sexual abuse and stay silent about it?

Wow, the military legitimated homosexuality and the result is soldiers under stress sexually abuse other soldiers. No one saw that coming!
This puts a lie to every piece of the gay argument.

Well like I said, the numbers are that because of the stigmas of reporting, men are twice as likely to not report their homosexual assailants than their female counterparts would be to report hetero abusers. It's that normal guys don't want to admit to having been sodomized. I understand there is a high suicide rate with this type of "silent victim" too. As if the guys in uniform don't have enough stress to deal with..

My opinion is that rape under those conditions is to be expected since they are little more than stupid animals we've trained to kill without question. You don't employ a hired gun to have morals, you pay him to kill things you don't like, usually other people, and he's just fine with that, that's his job and goal in life.

Since all you lefty loons claim unreported instances of a firearm preventing a crime are lies, shouldn't you also agree unreported instances of sexual harassment or rape are lies too?

Experts analyzing the rise in sex assault reports in the military readily attribute it to the military encouraging victims to come forward and making it easier to report the abuse. This is actually good news. It does NOT mean that the number of sex abuse incidents are increasing.

Yep, it's confirmed. You're an LGBT activist posing as the opposition.

I wonder if the L's are happy about being lumped in with the T's. Or the G's or the B's.
Or the "Ps" or the "Qs" etc. etc. etc. Lifestyle choices are endless if you think about it. The choice for marriage is simple: father/mother. Complimentary genders as parents since time immemorial.
