Two Navy SEALs, two Marines charged in murder of Green Beret

This story is both tragic and also very fishy. Two elite Navy SEALs and two Marine Raiders were charged with felony murder in the June 2017 strangulation death of U.S. Army Green Beret Staff Sgt. Logan Melgar.

The US Navy charged these men with murder earlier this week, from the article:

"The suspects are accused of driving to Marine quarters to obtain duct tape, breaking into Melgar's room while he was sleeping, restraining him with the duct tape, and strangling him in a chokehold. The four U.S. service members, which include two members of the famed SEAL Team Six, killed Melgar "while perpetrating a burglary," according to their charge sheets."

If these men indeed murdered this man, they should receive punishment to the fullest extent of the law; not only did this man lose his life, but this is also blatant disrespect to the honor of the military itself -- especially to the fraternity of fellow Navy Seals. In addition to felony murder, the charges against the four men include conspiracy, obstruction of justice, hazing and burglary. What is fishy about this is the hazing part -- maybe this was an hazing event gone wrong and the whole thing was a tragic accident.

The soldiers involved in the incident had earlier claimed that one of them and Army Staff Sgt. Logan Melgar were wrestling at 4 a.m. when a fellow SEAL came in and joined in the horseplay. According to the SEALS, the men fell down together and when they stood up, Melgar wasn't breathing?? Either way, RIP to the Green Beret and condolences to his family.

What a strange story. Not the kind you would expect from Special Forces.

Hope they figure it out and I sure hope the four men didn't kill Melgar.
