On Wednesday, police in Austin arrested two Mexican nationals who reportedly participated in the gang-rape of a 13-year-old girl on June 29.

The girl, a runaway, who lives at the Settlement Home for Children, was picked up by three Latino men and driven to the Avalon Arms apartments, where she was raped by a large group of men for several hours, according to police.

As many as 13 men took turns sexually assaulting the girl. Many cheered and filmed the sickening crime on their cell phones, according to court documents.

Juan Lozano Ortega, 25, and Edgar Gerardo Guzman Perez, 26, have been charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. Both are currently being held in the Travis County Jail on immigration detainers.

“The affidavit states the assault lasted until early into the morning of June 30, then the victim was driven to a nearby neighborhood and told to "find somewhere to go."

Police say they were able to track Ortega and Perez from the phone call the girl made to her foster brother with their cell phone. She was able to make it back on her own to the settlement home.

The girl was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors determined her injuries were consistent with her allegations.

Austin police are currently searching for the other assailants.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the proposed legislation you're referring to says anything about giving "amnesty" to rapists.

They are wanting to allow illegals to stay. They can't do background checks on all 20 million of them. Of course these type of people will be staying and getting amnesty.

It would be much better to go back to it being illegal to hire illegals, prosecute and fine the hell out of businesses that hire them..

AND make it illegal to rent a home or apartment to an illegal.

Change the Citizenship laws to require that at least one of the parents of the child must be a Citizen.

If the government had any respect for our laws and simply upheld them, those here years ago would have self-deported and few would have bothered to come here. If we clarified the constitution to state that children born here must have at least one legal American citizen in order to be granted citizenship, few would have come. If we didn't allow welfare and free housing and school to illegals, it wouldn't have been worth their time to come. They are here in the tens of millions because politicians make it worth their while to sneak in. The Mexican government encourages them to come here, take jobs and send money back to Mexico. The government there actually depends on remittances when they plan their budgets.

Prevention would have been best. We should have let Mexican officials know that they need to do more for their people and not send them to us. We shouldn't have rolled out the red carpet for illegals and looked the other way when they were taking our jobs, getting hefty tax returns and stealing peoples' social security numbers and identities. Many of their crimes are not victimless.

If we told them tomorrow that they must provide all records and pay the costs to get copies of their birth certificates, police and medical records, learn our language, pay all fees the way legal immigrants do and wait years before anything happens, they might leave on their own. As it is, even those who are undesirables are waiting for amnesty and probably hoping that no one is going to check them out. I wonder how many fled here to avoid prison in their home countries.
