In what appeared to be a miracle, 12 HIV negative babies have been born to 12 HIV positive women all attending antenatal health care at Saint Faith Hospital and Maternity, Awka, Anambra (Nigeria).

This was made known by the matron of the hospital, Mrs Chisom Ezulike to the Anambra state Chapter of the group known as Journalists Alliance for Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV in Nigeria (JAPiN), in Awka on Friday.

According to the matron, out of the 12 HIV positive pregnant mothers that enrolled in the hospital under PMTCT programme, 100 per cent of the babies delievered were HIV negative.
