I know what a light year is but not sure about a sex year.

Real Bigots gave Mississippi a well deserved bad reputation back in the late fifties & early sixties, and real bigots never change...but they do die, and they have.

Today, race relations in Mississippi, while not untroubled, could nevertheless serve as examples for some of the other parts of the country. In 1962, it took the National Guard, and a couple of people killed in riots to get the first Black student admitted to Ole Miss, the flagship university of Mississippi. Tonight, Ole Miss will play in the College World Series. At shortstop will be an articulate, intelligent, very popular Black kid from Maryland...and he will be one of the only Black kids in the whole tournament. For economic reasons, most Black baseball players who get a chance to go to the Minors Leagues, have to take it and skip college.

But, not this kid from Maryland. His parents can afford to make up the difference.

But, why would Maryland parents send their kid to this backwoods wasteland?

Well, because they went to Ole Miss too. What does that tell you?

I too have to be suspicious of a "sex year old" study on corruption; but my best suspicions come from the fact that it was done in Hong Kong---which means it was done over the internet, which means it is bullshit.

But, Mississippians don't mind. They have benefited from their bad reputation. As these Assholes from the North move South to escape Global Cooling and High Taxes, and infest it with their rude manners and looney politics (Florida has been hit hardest, and is virtually ruined) Mississippi has escaped the invasion...spared by its reputation...blessedly scorned by Assholes from New York and New Jersey.

We'll take the reputation.
