    Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) Information
The COLA is calculated from the change in the 3rd quarter average of the Consumer Price Index Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) since the last COLA increase. For 2012 it was 3.6% but 2010 and 2011 saw zero increase. The CPI-W All Items went up 0.5% in Sep

The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) went up 0.6% in Sep, mostly due to a 7% increase in gasoline prices. All Items less food and energy, the so-called "Core CPI) went up 0.1%

Now we get to wait and see if that will cover the increase in Medicare Part B premium!
