We are living through the latest example of democracy eventually failing.

Emotional pleas aren't going to work on me and your logic is shit.
Emotional pleas? I’m presenting facts. Can you refute the facts I’ve presented?

Or maybe you are too busy enjoying various products made by slaves.

Your whole world view is based on your moral superiority to slaveholders. And now it is dawning on you that you are no better. It must be difficult to watch your world view come crashing down. I’ll give you a minute.

What do facts about child labor in the Congo have to do with your fantasies about me and what I believe in?

Facts about some of Curried Goats’ slaves:

Now go ahead and connect those facts to a rational point instead of an emotional one.

Do I have to draw a picture for you? I presented facts showing you that many products you buy (electronics, food, clothing, etc.) are produced in part by slave labor.

What you didn't produce was me complimenting the system for operating this way.

You were trying to pass off your fragile fantasies as rational conclusions. They were not. Are you done flailing about in dress up trying to embarass me? :dunno:

If we have regrettably concluded that bit of fun that is actually a shame. I can't speak for anyone else but I was certainly enjoying the show.

Anyway why do you keep attempting (at least that is what I think you're doing) a rational argument but then irrationally making it about me? As I've said to you before and in the last post, I'm a child of immigrants. I wasn't a victim of American injustice. It's not me who you owe, as an American tax payer, for the injustices perpetrated by the nation you call home.
No fantasy

Without slavery africans would have had no way to reach America

So if an Alabama slave owner circa 1840 didn’t compliment the system he would be exonerated from all guilt?
An Alabama slave owner circa 1840 is directly engaging in slavery and ready to start an entirely new nation to defend the practice. Similarly the Founders, credited for creating our society and our rules and its laws and foundations, are, more than anyone else, responsible for the American slave state that they themselves created. I'm a descendant of slaves in the Caribbean and an immigrant to this country. I don't support unfettered capitalism or the exploitation of the third world, of which my family is from, but simply not using a phone isn't going to end that exploitation. What will is overwhelming the American population with immigrants who's children can use their political power to end that exploitation.

Democracy isn't failing. Our democracy is what made us what we are. It made us a powerful first world country that sits at the front of the table of world super powers.

What is failing is our leaders. They fail us, not what were founded on. If American democracy fails it's because our leaders failed us. Democracy doesn't change in it's form, what changes is the people who determine how to use it and uphold it.

American democracy, morals, values, pride and standards got us where we are and as long as we have leaders that stand by those we won't ever fail. But when our leaders stop stand by those then we go to shit.

It's like if oreo leaders said "you know the oreo that made us billions and billions of dollars and made this company what it is that hundreds of millions of people love? Well I think we should stop making them the way we do and change the recipe" they would be laying off people and closing facilities down left and right within a year. The company would begin to fail because they stopped doing what made them so successful.

Slavery was a disaster for this country on many levels. I would not quarrel with the idea that that original sin made our country's success an uphill battle from the start.

You seem to be looking at the past through the modern lens though. It's easy to look back 100s of years ago and say that it was wrong.

Almost everything in the world hundreds or even thousands of years ago was built with slaves. That was the way a less advanced society built things was by throwing misery and suffering at it till it was done. At that exact time it wasn't immoral by their standards, it was the only way to get big things done. Now we don't need slavery anymore because we advanced our society and technology past it. One day in the future they will think you and I are both barbarians because of something we do normally they have advanced beyond.

Slavery, Christianity, ambition, strong wills, the constitution and so on all built our country. They were all responsible for taking this land from nothing to being a world super power in record time.

Yea. When you exploit people you can prosper off their exploitation. Those are the morals you stand by. The morals of slavers, pimps and thieves.

America has not harmed you

In fact if you are lucky enough to have American citizenship you are blessed beyond all other chinese-black-indians who dont
That's not a rational argument and probably why your culture is going to shit. Shit ideas from shit people.

The Alabama slave holder may not be directly involved in slavery. Maybe he is like you and gets someone else to do the whipping. Does this exonerate him?

Actually you do support slavery every time you buy a product produced by slaves. Take some personal responsibility.

Africans are also responsible for the American slave state. After all many African kingdoms grew wealthy from the slave trade.

And please recognize that many slaves are found in third world and socialist countries.
