Jewish history isn't an invention, it's a fact.
Well, the history of the "Jewish people" is an invention, because the "Jewish people" is an invention. As simple as that.
Even honest Israel professors admit that, and their books are best-sellers even in Israel:

Yes, there is a history of Judaism, no problems with that, and there is a history of different ethnic groups, like Ashkenazi (the descendants of Khazars) or the Sephardic Jews, the Arab Jews, the Chinese Jews, Ethiopian Jews etc.
All these different ethnic groups adopted Judaism, but they are different people.
Zionists try to melt them into one single people, but this does work.
There is racism in Israel, white Ashkenazi Jews hate swarthy, black or slant-eyed Jews, and vice versa.
White Jews were successful in reducing the fertility of black Jews:

If white and black Jews in Israel were the same people, why would white Jews be so eager to reduce the number of black Jews?
BTW, Sepahrdic and Ashkenazi Jewish communities in Europe were totally separated from each other, they did not intermarry, they had different Synagogues, and even different cemeteries. If they were one single people, why would they have separated communities in Europe?
Although France expelled its original Jewish population in the
Middle Ages, by the time of the
French Revolution, there were two distinct Jewish populations. One consisted of Sephardic Jews, originally refugees from the
Inquisition and concentrated in the southwest, while the other community was Ashkenazi, concentrated in formerly German
Alsace, and speaking mainly Yiddish. The two communities were so separate and different that the
National Assembly emancipated them separately in 1790 and 1791.

As we see, even in 1790 these two Jewish communities were different ethnic groups, with different spoken languages, and they hated each other and never intermixed.
And even today in Israel Ashkenazi Jews still believe that the swarthy oriental Jews are inferior, they protest and do not permit their children to go to the same schools with black and swarthy Jews.
If Jews were one single ethnic group, these things would never happen.
"No court ruling or Education Ministry decision can bring the two groups together," an Immanuel resident said Wednesday.
"It's like putting Americans and Africans together. They can't study together with such huge mental differences," he said.
Some 70 Ashkenazi students of the Beit Yaakov girls' school stopped attending classes two days before the Hanukkah holiday - in protest of the ministry's efforts to force the ultra-Orthodox school to rescind the segregation, in keeping with the High Court ruling.

As we see, they still have racial segregated schools in Israel, and white Jews refuse to let their children to racially mixes schools.
How on earth can this happen, if the "Jewish people" is not an invention?
There are many different Jewish people, with totally different histories, and the same is true with different Muslim and Jewish people.
To talk about the "History of Jewish people" is as idiotic as to talk about the "History of Christian people" or the "History of Muslim people". Every ethnic group has a different history, and different ethnic groups who adopted Judaism also have different histories.
BTW, the history of different ethnic group, that converted to Judaism, has nothing to to with the legends about the Kingdom of Israel or other fairy tales from the Old Testament, because these ethnic groups have nothing in common with the Hebrews, except the religious mythology.
