This is bad PR for everyone. There is a large number of players, but a fairly steady stream of these sordid tales, and it makes all of them look bad.

One must be skeptical about allegations of horrific rapes, followed by the woman continuing to act and present herself as his "girlfriend." One suspects retroactive revocation of consent (to fuck). Money is the root of much evil.

The problem is too much money! The owners put up w/ the soaring salaries, deal w/ "athletes" who are barely analogous to that moniker; being broken down or fragile from early on! The owners also throw $$ down a rat-hole w/ luxury taxes w/o blinking an eye! We're talking big $$; 10's of millions on top of other expenses!
