You want to discuss playing pool? How about pool players?

Here is my favorite pool player and what she does playing pool.'

I have a question about a rule.

This happened to me on three different occasions.

Playing a game of 8 ball I got to break. I hit the cue ball as hard as I could and it broke.

So what is the rule on that? Is it considered a scratch? Obviously you can't play with a cue ball that is broken in half. So where does the new cue ball get placed. Is it ball in hand? Ball in hand for whom?

One of the times I broke the cue ball I also sank the 8 ball. Is that a win? Or is it a loss? :dunno:

If you break the cue ball it's like knocking it off the table. If the 8 ball went in, you won. If you break the cue ball and nothing goes in your opponent gets to place a new ball anywhere he wants.

Course....I've never seen this happen myself.
