Dont you know you are supposed to buy a new phone every 2 yrs and also buy the newest computers for the good of the economy. This has got to be one of the dumbest efforts to get people to buy new . What about all the toxic waste this would entail? We gotta save the planet right out the window.

I think the world needs another dot com crash -- I'm so fed up with the overbearing, intrusiveness of tech companies that I'm about ready to chuck it all. I already dumped cell phones, they're going to keep on treating people like they are here for the tech companies' enjoyment and they're going to FAFO. I don't think its a bad thing. I survived many, many years without these wastes of my time and I could do it again.

The issue I would face is the scarcity of payphones. Two can play the reporting game.

When they went to 5G phones I had to get a new one to replace the 4G.....It was "free".

I still use the old 4G one for internet searches.

It comes in real handy for YT "how to" videos when working on guns.

They must be really annoyed about my vehicle...

What kind of gas guzzler ya got

It actually does quite well on gas (averages 20.5 mpg), it's an almost 20 year old (next year) FJ Cruiser...

I'm not doing my part for the economy by buying a new car... my phone is about 4 or 5 years old and I didn't replace my 13 year old computer until last year...

Bingo. Use things until they wear out. Companies have gotten into this "planned obsolescence" schtick and it is wasteful---LOL, all the while trying to convince everyone that they are proponents for the environment.

Wife drives a 2011 Enclave.....offered to get her something else if she wanted but she clings to it

For the thrill of peeling the plastic off a new phone ... TOTALLY WORTH IT!

Here's some really depressing news....

Pictures on the internet 100% last forever.
Half of the men subscribed to OnlyFans?

Uggghhhh.
TBH, I've never been to the site. Never subscribed, don't understand the whole concept. But then again I'm a self admitted prude. Extremely old fashioned and easily and happily satisfied with my wife. Completely uninterested in anyone other than my wife.
Not that I'm completely butt ugly....I've had women flirt before. Took me a while to figure out what they were doing as it's not something on my radar screen. Guess I'm slow. But I think I am happier than over half the guys out there...so...I'll just keep ignorant. Seems better that way. Besides, there is no replacement for my wife. Don't gamble with what you can't afford to lose.

So it's just kinda lost on me.

I actually have two school issued phones. No, I am not important, but it just worked out that way. Anyway, I don't need a personal phone. I work at a computer, so that communication is a breeze. I take the second phone when I am driving-just in case.

I never buy new cars. The depreciation factor alone should keep anyone with half a brain away.

I always buy a top of the line phone, but I sure as hell don;t replace it after 2 years. The Z fold 6 I have now is getting close to 2 years and I plan on having it for at least two more.
