Isn't that right TEmplar?![]()
Never heard of stand-off weapons? Not sure B-52's would be worth anything against nations with topflight fighters.
There is no such things as "stealth" bombers. There are bombers with reduced visibility (for obsolete radars). Modern air defence see them quite good.Never heard of stand-off weapons?
Ever hear of stealth bombers? B-52s would mop up after they have taken out the air defenses.
there sure are....what is your military experience there zav that you can say this?...There is no such things as "stealth" bombers. There are bombers with reduced visibility (for obsolete radars). Modern air defence see them quite good.
What is more important, air defence is not supposed to build some kind of magic, unpenetrable shield ower the whole country.
All what they suppose to do - is to buy enough time to launch ICBMs.
It's Zeb (or Mike), if you don't mind. By my military specialty I'm a Chemical scout and I have some understanding of American NRBC-delivering systems, including strategic bombers, and modern Air Defence systems.there sure are....what is your military experience there zav that you can say this?...
there are "stealth" bombers....the USAF uses the B-2 Spirit and are developing the B-21 Raider....we have seen it fly out here out of Nellis AF base .....It's Zeb (or Mike), if you don't mind. What is "stealth" in one frequency is "not stealth" in other frequencies. And there are special radars to detect "stealth" bombers. Say nothing about lidars. They are visible in visible light frequencies, aren't they?there are "stealth" bombers....the USAF uses the B-2 Spirit and are developing the B-21 Raider....we have seen it fly out here out of Nellis AF base .....
there are things happening that we know very little about....and yes that includes both of us...What is "stealth" in one frequency is "not stealth" in other frequencies. Let's play. The game is First Strike.
How many B-52 do you have airborn alert at everydays basis? The answer is simple - zero.
What does it mean in practical way?
It means that all your B-52 bombers are destroyed on the land by the First Russian strike.
Nowadays there are nice things, too.Reminds me of all the doom and gloom scenario films we had to watch when I was in school in the 60's and 70's.
Nothing but scenarios of WW3, nuclear destruction, what would be left and what would actually survive in the aftermath.
Well Mike, that "crawling" description works in Russia too.Nowadays there are nice things, too. Like, you know, "Crawl out thru the fallout...":
First - Russia is better prepared. Second - when alternative is total genocide, survival among radioactive ruins looks like preferable option. As they sing in the popular song "The noise of Poplars" (meaning Topol-M mobile ICBMs):Well Mike, that "crawling" description works in Russia too.
