So the intellectual kids end up becoming greedy pill pushing psychiatrists and stuck up academics. Would they end up better and unselfish adults if High Schools let them become jocks and cheerleaders?

You're making assumptions about the highly educated, so this op falls flat.

and "letting" is another ignorant thing. Cheerleaders and jocks make the team, the rest get cut, there is no letting people on the team for any reason.

the only exceptions I've seen is the handicapped making the team.
