I would argue that, if an android had human consciousness, then it would have the same rights as a human would. Just because it is "made of metal" or lacks "human DNA" doesn't mean we would ignore the fact that it has consciousness.
I would say the irony on the pro-life side regarding the abortion debate, is that many of them discount human consciousness as central to the discussion. Therefore, they might be in favor of destroying an android which has the same consciousness as a human being simply because it isn't a "human organism" or because it lacks human DNA.
