So called "Ricin" = castor seeds, castor oil, furniture polish. Did somebody fold the paper and seal the envelope on a piece of hardwood furniture, by any chance?

That would explain why it's harmless as a weapon of mass destruction. Or more probably someone didn't like the content of the letter, and is finding some other pretext to press charges.

Several species of poisonous mushrooms grow in my district, some of them quite deadly to breathe the odors, but unnoticeable to the touch.

Who knows? The POTUS does not personally read all his mail, and even if he did, the Secret Secret would have first dibs at it. You can't expect to poison the President with a letter at the mailbox.

Not really. I'm not a member of your crazy party. Ricin is furniture polish. Disinformation. They don't want the kids to learn the recipe for the real poison.

If some leftist women send poisoned letters in the mail, what do the leftist court system do about the women who serve poisoned divorce and child custody papers on their lawful wedded husbands?

Do leftist judges just allow them to inherit their husbands' estates as wealthy widows after the doc falsifies the cause of death on the death certificate for a cut of the estate?
