But for those of you who use it, I'm sure you already know that. I bought a cheap dell laptop that uses windows 10 because my old one that uses window 7 started going to hell. Just trying to get it to operate was a nightmare. And I'm still working out the kinks. That's why I haven't been around in the last few days. I wonder how much money Microsoft makes just to create screwy programs like that.

As far as Windows versions go, I like Windows 10, 7, XP and 98SE.

On October 10, they are supposed to end support for Windows 10 so don't get too attached. Windows 11 is worse though.

10 ain't even that bad, brah.
Not if you gut all the bullshit. 😆
Cortana and another 1 or 2 require special nuking from orbit.
If it works after that, that's when you save it.
Oh Gates made 10 and 11 to get in on all the datamining like Google and Apple and Zuckerfuck do.

They had it mostly right with XP, and decided to **** it all up.
XP was my absolute favorite and the OS that I wrote the most programs to run on.

My complaint with MS forcing it's users onto new OS systems is because right when you are comfortable & competent with all the quirks of your current OS they change everything to make it more user friendly for non-technical users and hide or move where everything is, making it VERY frustrating for technical users because you now have to learn how to do something that you already know how to do but in a new environment.

Windows 8 was just an OS from hell with all that tile interface and swiping. The pro & enterprise versions generally work out best if you're a power user.

Windows 11 is malware.

Then you're crazy. I think they should just have upgraded XP to accept more powerful computers. I hate having to learn how to use a new OS. For example, with windows 7, I could just drag and drop a picture into one of my threads or replies. I'm still trying to figure out how to do that with windows 10. Also, on my thumb drive in my windows 7 computer, I can go to pictures and from there choose the videos I also have on it. On windows 10, I couldn't get it to recognize that there was anything besides pictures on it. I'm still working on that too. I wish I had the money to find a refurbished Apple computer that is at least as powerful as my i7 computer is. Otherwise I would buy one and see if I like it better. And if I did, I could just kiss those microsoft assholes goodbye.

Windows 11 worse? Making it worse wouldn't be easy to do. But no doubt those assholes at microsoft could figure out a way to do it.

I don't like it that much. I am down to 1 computer with 10 after I accidently clicked to let them install it on my last work computer with 10. It is too cloud optimized IMO so it bogs way down trying to do anything like even boot up when the web connection is down and it just has too many microsoft apps that are impossible to disappear because they are integrated into the OS and even those seem to be constantly being updated now for "AI". I generally like to strip everything out that I am not using and I just can't seem to do that with 11.

Windows 7 can't use some of the new technology.
There's a certain Windows 10 that's like a long-term enterprise version.
I forget what they call it, sorry.

IMO, 11 is useless malware. It IS a trojan/RAT/back door.

XP works with up to some fairly modern Intel platforms.
Only 3GB RAM, though. Unless you wanna try XP64,
good luck with that! :abgg2q.jpg:

I asked my assistant if you could use a restore point to return to windows 10 but that's not possible however there are couple of other options:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey Mariyam — great question.

Unfortunately, a System Restore point cannot revert a full Windows 11 upgrade back to Windows 10. Here's why:

🔄 What a Restore Point Does:

A restore point only reverts system files, drivers, and registry settingsnot the OS version. So if someone upgrades to Windows 11, even if they had restore points from Windows 10, those:
  • won’t show up anymore
  • and can’t undo a full OS upgrade

✅ What Can Roll Back a Windows 11 Upgrade?

Option 1: Windows 11’s built-in rollback (within 10 days)

  • If it’s been less than 10 days since the upgrade, they can go to:
Settings > System > Recovery > Go back
This uses the Windows.old folder to revert to Windows 10.

Option 2: Manual Reinstall

If it's been more than 10 days, or if they deleted the Windows.old folder:
  • They’ll need to manually reinstall Windows 10 using bootable media (USB).
  • They can choose to:
    • Keep personal files (if doing an in-place downgrade)
    • Or do a clean install (wipes everything)

🔐 Suggestion:

Before downgrading, back up everything, including:
  • Files on Desktop/Documents
  • Browser profiles
  • Licenses, passwords (especially if in a browser vault)
  • VM config if they use any
If you want, I can walk you through checking whether the Windows.old folder still exists or help prep a USB installer for Windows 10.

You can run an older OS in a Virtual Machine on your current windows or other machine.

One malicious thing it does is nag you into putting documents, videos and pictures into it's special shared folders that use the cloud. Then after they fill up to your free cloud space they just start deleting your files unless you buy more cloud space from them, for a monthly fee of course.

Do you really want microsoft to have all that access?

Have you tried using system restore? Also, isn't there a way to reset your computer to factory settings? Though that might get rid of anything you had saved on your computer.

Sounds like too much of a bother. Or something that might slow my computer down. I had to live with going from XP to windows 7. So I guess I'll just have to live with going from windows 7 to windows 10.

No but that would cost me a fortune because I would need to buy new licenses for several of the programs on it. Anyway, it isn't that important to me. I just don't like Windows 11. I feel like it is spying on me and reporting too much back to MS HQ.
