Why is there a lot of alcohol drinking in the Catholic church

Sure it is. When I looked at how prevalent alcoholism is in my family, which is 3/4 Irish, 1/4 English, I was looking for answers.

Again, alcoholism is a lot of times related to a hard life and poverty. These people don't get to go on vacations nor do they have "disposable" income, so they go for cheap thrills, like getting drunk off cheap vodka. Your nationality does not predict that you will be an alcoholic or not.
