People from different backgrounds have different views on things and a different way of looking at things and overcoming problems.

Having a group with a wide background of experiences is the best way to succeed as you do not get stuck in group think or in just doing the same old thing.

That is why college campuses around the country have safe zones so conservatives can't speak their minds, as they ban conservative speakers from speaking.

Then they have social clubs and graduations where no whites can participate at those colleges, and demand blacks like Clarence Thomas either resign or be impeached.

Too many big businesses these days are run by leftist professionals that are increasingly Marxist in their attitudes or who comply with that agenda to keep favor with those in government. They could likely be deep state approved if not operatives, and they figure they are too big to fail should they irritate or anger some of their customers. In many cases they have become part of the effort to so change the American culture and weaken us as a nation so that it can be remolded into the mostly totalitarian deep state models which are decidedly Marxist.

Being properly 'woke' is part of that.

Diversity provides real benefits when it comes to creativity. But it has to be intelligently applied. Trying to hit specific percentage levels makes no sense. And worse, it does more harm than good. Take the LGBT community, highest estimate of their percentage of the population is around seven percent. Do they really want to limit their seat at the table at seven percent? In the end IBM is going to be hiring a low-grade black employee and losing a high quality flamer, although maybe they can hit two demographics with one hire.

And here is the thing, instead of crying about diversity programs, white males should embrace them, leverage them to their own benefit. My oldest son has done precisely that. Heavy Appalachian accent, DNA test came back and he laughed, told me he was the whitest cracker on the planet. 85% English, 14% Scotch-Irish.

Go to any university with an engineering program at graduation. Pick up the listing of graduates. At the bachelor level, well it might be 50% American, and most of them of Asian decent. But when you get to the Masters and Doctoral levels, well you would be hard pressed to find a graduate that was actually born in the United States.

They come from China, India, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, mostly Asian countries, but a lot from the Middle East. My son was actively recruited by some of top engineering schools in the country when he was applying for graduate work. And they flat out told him, they wanted some white students.

Today, he is the youngest project manager in the history of his company and oversees about a dozen engineers. Problem, most of them are not US citizens, and since he does a lot of work for the federal government it creates an extra layer of paperwork and includes travel restrictions.

The moral of the story, a young white Non Asian male going into the STEM field can write their own ticket.
