Ok, but why do roaches scatter when the lights come on?

I have so many questions here.

A lot of the civil servants quitting have no-work or no-show "jobs", and they realize that they represent the kind of waste that Trump is committed to removing.

Better to quit voluntarily than to be found out to be a fraud.

Many have taken 2nd jobs illegally

Moonlighting isn't illegal.

But the fact that the civil servants have "no show" jobs with the government, they might as well work during the day somewhere else and collect 2 paychecks.

Exactly.... It's called double clocking. Being on the clock for the federal government and being on the clock somewhere else at the same time.
The IRS should be able to trace it pretty easily.
Those found to have been guilty of it owe salary back to the federal government.

I would bet that a lot of them are people who are eligible to retire, and they take the buy-out as kind of a retirement bonus.

Self preservation and protest against the "administration's policies.

It's not rocket science, kid.

Why would you ever retire at a job you never have to even show up for?
Good one, although saying you retired at 40 is much better than saying you have a job and do nothing.

Looks like most of the federal workers have relocated to a house in Illinois
