Why are many crazy shooters using old mil-surp weapons?

An SKS and two Mausers....Copycat maybe?

Oh the old mil-surps can get the job better than done but it just seems odd given their cost these days when compared to an AR.

Even old Mosin 91/30s are better than $400.00 now and sub-$400 ARs are plentiful now on the used gun racks.

That said the York, PA shooter used an AR so it might just be coincidence.

Kirk's shooter already had that rifle in the family for generations and was probably very familiar with it and it was just handy.

Trump's shooter in P.A. used an AR.

I think what you're saying is mostly a coincidence.
