Why are Iranians burning mosques?!

Iran is an ancient civilization tolerant of all ethnicities and faiths that goes back over 3000 years. In fact it was the first civilization that established the first human rights in written form over 2500 years ago, until they were invaded by savage Arab Muslims about 500 years ago.

The Cyrus Cylinder is an ancient clay, barrel-shaped artifact from 539 B.C., inscribed in Babylonian cuneiform, which is widely recognized as the world's first charter of human rights. It records King Cyrus the Great’s conquest of Babylon, allowing exiled peoples to return home, promoting religious freedom, and establishing policies of tolerance.
Key Aspects of the Cyrus Cylinder and Human Rights:
  • Context: After conquering Babylon in 539 B.C., Cyrus issued decrees inscribed in Akkadian cuneiform to declare his policies, which are now on display at the British Museum.
  • Key Provisions: The text mentions the repatriation of displaced peoples, the restoration of temples, and the freedom to practice local religions.
  • "First Charter" Significance: It is often referred to as the first bill of human rights, with its themes of freedom of religion and tolerance, leading it to be translated into all six official UN languages.
  • Interpretation: While some view it as a direct precursor to modern human rights, others argue it was a pragmatic political document focused on restoring order rather than a modern declaration of universal rights.
  • Legacy: The cylinder inspired leaders through history, and a replica is displayed at the United Nations in New York.
