If both the president and vice president were assassinated, who becomes president?

so what's on your mind; what made you think of such a thing?
Just when the Lefties fantasied if Trump got assassinated some weeks back. So today I thought, what happens if both where done in. When was the last attempt, Reagan?

whats the constitution say??

so many question could be answered if you just read those few pages of the constitution,,
I don't think it's in our Uncodified British Constitution, so I thought I would ask Americans instead.

well you guys dont have a president so I doubt it would be there,,

ours clearly states whos next in line,,
Yes, I was just reading up due to two helpful posts. Apparently if the Speakers position is vacant, it could cause a Constitution meltdown if the President and Vice President were ran over by a bus.

Your head of state is the president, ours is the King or Queen. Our King or Queen doesn't effect parliament. Our Prime Minister is just the leader of the party that's in government, which as you know, can often be replaced due to a vote of no confidence. So currently, there are a approximately 348 conservative MP's that can be elected as Prime Minister. Party politics here, so our system is robust.

Don't worry, you just defaulted to one of the several American clichés you guys always come out with when you lose debates. Not meaning to rude of course.

Just search "clichés" under my username and you will find the list in a gun nut thread. If you read them first before replying, it'll save you coming out with more, like Limey, guns banned, bow to your King etc.. In the UK, we call those clichés yawn material. To you guys, the clichés are awesome.

The U.S. Constitution and the Presidential Succession Act of 1947 outline the presidential order of succession. The line of succession of cabinet officers is in the order of their agencies’ creation.

  1. Vice President
  2. Speaker of the House
  3. President Pro Tempore of the Senate
  4. Secretary of State
  5. Secretary of the Treasury
  6. Secretary of Defense
  7. Attorney General
  8. Secretary of the Interior
  9. Secretary of Agriculture
  10. Secretary of Commerce
  11. Secretary of Labor
  12. Secretary of Health and Human Services
  13. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development
  14. Secretary of Transportation
  15. Secretary of Energy
  16. Secretary of Education
  17. Secretary of Veterans Affairs
  18. Secretary of Homeland Security

That's for Head of State, nothing to do with Parliament/Prime Minister.

No matter how far down the line of succession we go, we will never get on our knees for a king. We already know you Limey clowns will.

It’s just a mark of respect for the office.

But you’ll go down on your knees at football matches. :cool-45:
