White House Aides Altered Official Transcript of Biden's 'Garbage' Remark

unfortunately republicans supporters of Trump do not listen to Biden's plain words.

Was it not the next day that Trump was claiming that Biden was insulting his supporters.

Trump flip the script to a crowd that would believe his version.

Was is it wrong to make a slight change in the transcript when a transcript is just an interpretation by someone trying to write it down in written words.

Is it strange that a simple placement of a possessive comma changes the whole meaning.

was it done on purpose by the person transcribing the document who is trained in transcribing words.

By making one minor change by the stenographer she gave Trump ammo to use in the week before the election.

Thanks that make you go hmmmm
Adding an apostophe does not change the fact that Biden ended the sentence on the word "supporters."

The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters
I don't know why this is one that the Democrats don't want to own. They didn't protest when Hillary called Trump supporters "a basket of deplorables," It has been noted over and over that Trump is the first politician that has so angered his opponents that they not only go after him, but attack anyone who votes for him.

Why is this even so different that Democrats are doing such rhetorical summersaults to avoid the truth?

The truth is that twump supporters are garbage. So I hope that that is what he meant to say.

Oh, OK. My bad. Thinking every other person you meet or work with is garbage is a completely acceptable way to go through life,
It doesn't bother me. Before I retired, I did know the political philosophy of my co-workers. It didn't matter. Now, I don't know that about most of the people that I meet.

We have garbage trucks and orange vest workers to pick them up and dispose of them properly.

We know. You told us. Can't imagine going through life with this opinion of half of everyone you meet.

And yet, you consider half of them to be garbage. That sucks. At least you found a political party where that outlook on life is not only accepted, but promoted.

I'm just happy to have met you. Maybe your love of all people on both sides will rub off on me.

when one use the word "is" then in english that refers to one person. Thus Biden is referring to the comedian and not a group of people. The definition of is - a third party singular which refers to one person

"The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters," Biden said. "His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable and it is un-American."

case closed and I made it as simple as possible

The problem is in translation by people who try to repeat what people say. People do not always talk in proper written english.

My God, you are reaching, bruh!

"Is" refered to "floating garbage," S in "the only floating garbage is his supporters."

Listen to what biden says and it is clear that he ended his sentence on "supporters."

I still don't understand why you're fighting this. You were thrilled like schoolgirls when Hillary called us "a basket of deplorables," why is this so different?

You didn't say "uh, uh, she meant to call you a basket, not deplorables! It was only one of you, because 'basket' is singular. It's being re-edited!"

Garbage

nice comeback except floating is also a verb and refers back to the garbage. What is the garbage doing , floats or floating when in water.

So my original point still stands.

(is) a singular verb that refers to one person or one thing. Biden says it refers to the comic who made the statement he was complaining about. Biden use of the word (is) supports that in the transcript. Is does not refer to a group of people. If it applied to a group of people then he would use(are).

So republicans are wrong in saying that Biden insulted them.

So for an old man he did get it right.

The transcript people just got over excited over something very minor.

Democrats erred in changing the transcript when there really was no need. All they needed was to point out the use of "is"

But I can see why as by making it a possessive it strengthens the case and really doesn't change the context that Biden was using.

So, they lied when they could have spun?

Too bad they don't have you on the gaslighting team.
There was no gaslighting with the adding of an apostrophe as it does not change the message

Biden used the verb "is" which is singular, had he use "are" then it could be interpreted as meaning a group of people as a plural verb.

So who was gaslighting when they claim that Biden insulted republicans?

Is that what you mean by gaslighting when you believed it also.

This is the silliest spin I’ve seen on this forum and that says a lot.
