Which Jewish Temple should be constructed first? The Ezekiel 40 to 48 Temple Complex or the Gihon Spring Temple?

I personally was introduced to this topic by Evangelist Garner Ted Armstrong back during the 1970's when I was a teenager.

Again and again over the years I happen to run into more and more interesting information on this topic. One example is that there was likely a REPLICA of the Ark of the Covenant made during the time of King Solomon.

"In a September 1935, article in the National Geographic magazine, L. Roberts recorded his interviews with various priests in different parts of Ethiopia who consistently told the same story. They recounted that the Queen of Sheba had visited King Solomon and had had "a child", Menelik I. Solomon educated the lad in Jerusalem until he was nineteen years old. The boy then returned to Ethiopia with a large group of Jews, taking with him the true Ark of the Covenant.

The Ethiopian official national epic known as the Glory of the Kings (Kebra-Nagasi) contains an amazing story which offers an explanation of what happened to the Ark of the Covenant. In addition, there are several Ethiopian murals which tell how the Ark and the Tablets of the Law were taken to Ethiopia for safekeeping by Prince Menelik I. ..... The Queen of Sheba, his mother, had died and the prince prepared to leave Jerusalem to return twenty-five hundred miles to his native country to become its king.

Prince Menelik bore an uncanny resemblance in beauty and regal bearing to his father. King Solomon wanted to give him a replica of the Ark to take with him to Ethiopia because the long distance would prevent him from ever again worshipping at the temple in Jerusalem.

However Prince Menelik was concerned with the growing apostasy of Israel and the fact that his father, Solomon was now allowing idols to be placed in the Temple to please his pagan wives. King Solomon gave the prince a going-away banquet and after the priests were filled with wine, Menelik and his loyal associates switched arks and left the replica in its place in the Holy of Holies." IF it is true that there are TWO Arks of the Covenant then this could potentially lead to TWO Jewish temples in Israel.

I am of the belief that it is logical to construct the Ezekiel chapter forty to forty eight temple complex first because it is almost certain that it will be several kilo-meters outside Jerusalem and thus will be much less controversial than a Gihon Spring replica of the Temple of King Solomon that was almost certainly NOT where the Al Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock are at now.


The information related to The Gihon Spring location for the Temple of King Solomon, was explained by an Israeli Archaeologist to Ernest L. Martin:

Ernest L. Martin (April 20, 1932 – January 2002) was a meteorologist, minister in the Worldwide Church of God and author on Biblical topics. He is best known for his unconventional works on the Star of Bethlehem and the location of the Temple in Jerusalem.

In his 1999 book The Temples that Jerusalem Forgot, Martin argued that the Haram al-Sharif is not the location of the last Temple. This was significant given his relationship with Herbert W. Armstrong whose editorial in The Plain Truth magazine was cited by Denis Michael Rohan as a reason for setting fire to the Al Aqsa mosque during the 1960s.

The basis of this work began with Martin's first visit to Jerusalem in 1961 when he first met Benjamin Mazar and later his son Ory Mazar, who informed him of his belief that the Temples of Solomon and Zerubbabel were located on the Ophel mound to the north of the original Mount Zion on the southeast ridge. In a 1996 draft report to support this theory, Martin wrote, "I was then under the impression that Simon the Hasmonean (along with Herod a century later) moved the Temple from the Ophel mound to the Dome of the Rock area." However, after studying the words of Josephus concerning the Temple of Herod the Great, which was reported to be in the same general area of the former Temples, he then read the account of Eleazar who led the final contingent of Jewish resistance to the Romans at Masada which stated that the Roman fortress was the only structure left by 73 C.E.. "With this key in mind, I came to the conclusion in 1997 that all the Temples were indeed located on the Ophel mound over the area of the Gihon Spring."<a href="Ernest L. Martin - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>4<span>]</span></a> From these conclusions, Martin produced his book in which he asserted that the Temples of Jerusalem were located over the Gihon Spring and not over the Dome of the Rock. He wrote, "What has been amazing to me is the vast amount of Jewish, Muslim, and Christian records that remain available from the first to the sixteenth centuries that clearly vindicate the conclusions that I have reached in this book of research."

His other works are Restoring the Original Bible (1984), Secrets of Golgotha (1987), 101 Bible Secrets (1991), The Biblical Manual (1985) and The Essentials of New Testament Doctrine (1999).

public officials who CLAIM TO BE MUSLIMS... but who are actually working for Atheists in Russia will not like the idea of

The Nascent Sanhedrin is calling on Russian President Vladmir Putin and US president-elect Donald Trump to join forces and fulfill their Biblically-mandated roles by rebuilding the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem.

Rabbi Hillel Weiss, spokesman for the Sanhedrin, contacted Breaking Israel News to announce that the election of Trump, who has promised to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, coupled with Putin’s expressed desire for the Temple to be rebuilt, prompted the Jewish court to send a letter offering the two the opportunity to act as modern-day Cyrus figures: non-Jewish kings who recognize the importance of Israel and the Temple.

Cyrus the Great, King of Persia in the sixth century BCE, announced in the first year of his reign that he was prompted by God to make a decree that the Temple in Jerusalem should be rebuilt.

Thus saith Koresh king of Paras: All the kingdoms of the earth hath Hashem, the God of heaven, given me; and He hath charged me to build Him a house in Yerushalayim, which is in Yehuda. Ezra 1:2

Cyrus sent the Jews under his rule back to Israel with a considerable sum of money with which to rebuild the Temple. The Sanhedrin plans to call on the two world leaders to take up this ancient Biblical decree and support the Jewish people in their holy mission.

Rabbi Weiss explained that the US elections have made the eternal Jewish dream a very real possibility.

“We are poised to rebuild the Temple. The political conditions today, in which the two most important national leaders in the world support the Jewish right to Jerusalem as their spiritual inheritance, is historically unprecedented,” Rabbi Weiss told Breaking Israel News.


The Sanhedrin’s letter notes that Trump’s upset victory was due to his support of Jerusalem, and reminds Trump of his campaign promise to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, effectively recognizing the city as the capital of Israel. The Jerusalem Embassy Act, passed in Congress in 1995, initiated the moving of the embassy, but has been vetoed since every American president since. The Sanhedrin calls on Trump to withhold the veto after he takes office.

The Sanhedrin also recalled Putin’s connection to the Temple in its letter. During his third official trip to Jerusalem in 2012, Putin paid a late-night visit to the Kotel (Western Wall). When he arrived at the holy site, the Russian leader stood in silence for several minutes, offering up a personal prayer, after which he read Psalms from a Russian-Hebrew prayer book.

An Israeli bystander called out in Russian, “Welcome, President Putin.” Putin approached the man, who explained the importance of the Temple Mount and the Jewish Temple. Chadrei Charedim, an Orthodox Hebrew news site, reported that Putin responded, “That’s exactly the reason I came here – to pray for the Temple to be built again.”

After this remarkable exchange, the Sanhedrin sent a letter to Putin calling on him to fulfill his prayer. At the time, President Putin did not respond to the Sanhedrin’s request, but now that the incoming US president is a potential ally in the project, the Sanhedrin believes it is time for Putin to take an active role in rebuilding the Temple.

In addition to its requests concerning the Temple, the Sanhedrin is also calling on Putin and Trump to renew the 1920 League of Nations resolution known as the San Remo treaty, which essentially enabled the creation of a Jewish State by dividing the Ottoman Empire. It incorporated the Balfour Declaration, issued by Great Britain in 1917, which gave official recognition and backing for the establishment of Israel.

US President Calvin Coolidge ratified the San Remo agreement in 1925, thus making recognition of a Jewish State legally binding by US law. The Sanhedrin emphasized that it is imperative at this time, when the Palestinian Authority is attempting to rewrite world history by campaigning against the Balfour declaration, to strengthen the historic American commitment to the State of Israel by readopting the agreement.

Rabbi Weiss emphasized that supporting the Jewish claim to Jerusalem would bring benefit Russia and America, as well as the entire world.

1.2 The need to build the Temple

The period of the Great Tribulation, that is, the period of wars, epidemics, famine and natural disasters for mankind, and the period of mutual confessional isolation among believers will end only when the Temple is built, described in the book of the prophet Ezekiel, and in this Temple will gather "chosen from four winds”, that is, the followers of Jesus Christ from among the peoples of the whole world.

... for then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, and will not be. And if those days had not been shortened, no flesh would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. (Matthew 24:21,22)

“For the sake of the elect those days will be shortened,” and the elect cannot be gathered until there is a Temple. Only by building the Temple in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and providing an opportunity for the elect to gather there, we will fulfill the condition for ending the disasters of the Great Tribulation.

1.3 Ability to build a Temple

The territory where the Temple is to be built is located in Israel (zone "C"), it is a natural reserve, there are no religious or residential buildings on this territory, the place is free. The Israeli government has the opportunity to build a Temple there.

1.4 The timing of the construction of the Temple

Theologically, the Temple must be built by the 1st of the month of Tishrei. The eastern gates of the Temple must be opened on the morning of Yom Terua, and they will be closed forever at the end of Yom Kippur, when the consecration of the altar and the manifestation of the glory of the Lord are completed, that is, the solemn entry of the elect, with whom the Lord God of Israel will appear in the Temple.

The schemes we have for interpreting the numerical prophecies of the Bible, about the 70 weeks of Daniel, about 2300 evenings and mornings, about 1290 and 1335 days, suggest that the Temple should be built in 2023. Therefore, the approximate date for the construction of the Temple is September 16, 2023.

1.5 There will be no temple on Mount Moriah

The temple for the Messiah on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem cannot be built, because the Temple already stood there, into which the Messiah, Jesus Christ, appeared. God will not build a Temple for the Antichrist, and the devil does not need a material temple at all, because everyone would quickly expose him there, especially the Christian denominations that expect this.

The devil is not so stupid as to build a mousetrap for himself in which he will be caught. He is quite satisfied that he is the prince of this world. The current religions also suit the devil quite well, because they are completely subordinate to him and serve his interests, serve the authorities of this world.

It is impossible to build a copy of the Second Temple, because God has already shown us the Temple that will suit Him: we have the prophecy of Ezekiel, where all the main dimensions and charters of this Temple are given to us. To this day, we already know the place where this Temple should be built, and we have an architectural model of this Temple.

Therefore, all the expectations of the construction of the Temple on Mount Moriah are in vain, and the construction of the Third Temple depends only on us, and not on the Lord God. He has already done everything necessary for us to be able to build the Third Temple.
