Where South Korea’s New President Stands on Trump and North Korea- More pro-China than his predecessor

South Korea has elected a new president, Lee Jae Myung, to replace Yoon Seok Yeol, who was impeached and has yet to be imprisoned.
Have they ever had a president who stepped down quietly? No.
In South Korea, the President's fate is usually sad.
And yet, they keep coming and coming...

Lee's main concern is Trump tariffs. Lee talked with Trump in a 20-minute phone call and called for a mutually acceptable trade agreement, including on tariffs. He will pursue dialogue with North Korea while bolstering a trilateral partnership with the United States and Japan. Lee previously criticized his predecessor's plans for South Korea to deploy lethal assistance to Ukraine, which could be reversed by the new president to avoid a direct confrontation with North Korea that deployed thousands of troops to Ukraine.
