I came up on this older guy this morning who had dropped his big-ass Harley over and I stopped to ask if he was OK. He must have been at least 75 and might have weighed 165 pounds soaking wet.

He asked if i could help him get his bike upright and I pulled over to help.....Damn that thing was heavy and to be honest he was not much help at all.

I relayed the story at the pawn shop and one of the older guys said the same thing happened to him a few years back (he's 78) and he sold his HD the next day!

I figured that if I don't have the ass to pick it up then I don't need it, he said.

I never Biker Bob-ed myself so just wondering when you figured to give it up.

I don't ride a HD, but I ride a comparable sized touring bike and I am in my mid 70s. I learned many years ago how to use leverage to pick it up and practice just for shits and giggles on occasion. I also fit the weight group you specified. I went riding with my grand daughters the day before yesterday. I get your point though, I am going to have to come to grips with reality before too long.

Never Biker-Bob-ed either. That "gay pirate" look is not for me.

One of my 70 something buddies has a crotch rocket. He dumped it in my driveway. That sucker was heavy!! I can't imagine a big Harley.

Can still pick up both my CB750K & 1000C.
Mine is a 99 Goldwing and I can feel the difference. I am considering a CanAm Ryker or Spyder or a Polaris Slingshot. Due to price I am leaning more toward the four wheeled, higher powered Spyder.

I think it was a HD Road King....Just a different color and lots more chrome.

Damn, no wonder I had a time with it! I must be stronger than I thought! ;)

LOL, you must be stronger than you thought. They certainly didn't put any thought into how one person could put that back on its wheels.

When I give up the bikes, I'll get a cool convertible...Have my eyes toward a Sunbeam or a Packard Caribbean.

Spyders and Slingshots aren't motorcycles....But whatever floats yer boat is fine by me.

They are both classed as motorcycles and you have to wear a helmet in some states. That is a drawback in my mind--if I'm going to have to have 3 or 4 wheels, I don't want to have to wear a helmet. BTW, Packards and Sunbeams aren't motorcycles either.

I worked in a chemical plant stenciling, filling or moving 55 gal drums off the line. Some weighed over 700lbs full. But they were upright. You could use leverage to tilt and roll onto pallets. If you let a full one fall? I dont know? I never did. Never rolled over my toes either. Steel tied red wings. No masks smelling all that.

I always wanted a BMW R12 with a sidecar.

The Russians were making a clone of the BMW R-71 sidecar called the Ural but the driven sidecar wheel version was right slow.

Right....But when I give up the bikes, I'll go all the way and get a convertible instead of a half-measure Frankenthingy.

I thought about buying a Ural when they first introduced them in the US. After the history, I'm glad I didn't. LOL, I still have a Ural T-shirt that Central Valley Ural gave me though. I think it lasted better than the motorcycles did.

My StreetGlide is over 800lbs. Prolly sell it this year.

If I had the money to get another bike, I certainly would.
Too many other toys to take care of.
