I am wondering what will become of Ukrainian currency once its war with Russia is over. It seems that, unless it is secured by leftover military equipment, the Hyrvnia will have to replaced with Dollars, Euros, Rubles or some other medium of exchange. This often leads to shady dealings by people with advance knowledge of when and how Ukraine's currency will be converted to real money. Any thoughts?

Unless you have a lot of Ukrainian currency, why worry?

Until Russia decides which areas they want to own / keep , speculation seems pointless .
They might do a deal with Poland and effectively
let them take back old western land , and I imagine they might let Kyiv nominally remain independent .
But wave good bye to old Ukraine

I think they could just go next door to Transnistria and use their currency. Shouldn't cost much to adopt this currency. Plus, if it collapsed, both countries would have a ready supply of poker chips.

The postwar status of Ukrainian currency will be a significant issue in their peace negotiations. It seems to me that Ukraine is essentially bankrupt, and that its currency will shortly become the equivalent of Confederate money. I suspect that "speculation" is already occurring on a massive basis.

Their currency has been super low for a long, long time. As long as the Ukrainian state exists, the currency should probably exist.

What is Ukraine's state debt?

The national debt is over $186 billion.

It is unrealistic neither in terms of servicing nor repayment

As long as there is money coming in from outside for repayment and servicing, the debts will be serviced and repaid.

As soon as the infusions stop, Ukraine will automatically become bankrupt.
