We haven't seen anything like this before!

No ... in the past, we watched REAL heroes in REAL spaceships going into outer space, for REAL.

Now we are content, as a species, to watch actors in CGI space facing virtual risks ... complete with commercial breaks and guaranteed happy endings.

We traded Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo for Commander Cody and Flash Gordon...

The Right Stuff reboot was good right up until the final episode.

Didn't see the others.

Probably not. People just got bored with all their usual stuff sitting at home. Fun fact--netflix monitors illegal tube and sharing sites to determine what to add. They look for areas/shows where demand online is high for them and opportunities to stream for free legally are low.
