i am convinced that "late term abortions" are always performed for extreme medical reasons. this is not a political issue, and anyone who can tell me a compelling reason for government involvement is this mornings winner.

During the debates on banning this procedure (which did happen but are no longer in place) Dr Haskell who was one of the doctors to perform this procedure was asked what was the biggest reason he performed this type of abortions.

He said "Maternal indications". When asked to clarify what he meant by that he noted the "age of the mother". He then went on to explain how a teen girl would hide her pregnancy for as long as she could and by the time it was discovered she was into later terms.
