What is actually driving the conflict in the Levant today?

Expansion of the borders, eliminating unwanted people, economics, religion, security, manifest destiny, racism? They all probably play some part, and the US is making it work for them so far. We will probably be drawn into something a lot bigger and very dangerous for reasons that aren't very clear. The 3rd temple will be built, the red calf sacrificed, and the gang will be getting back together, with a US President that is totally immersed in their activities. I can't see any sane way to deal with this. quote:

What is driving the conflict?

The descendants of the Arab-Muslims who stole the land are now objecting that the land is being seized back again.

Muslims don't like to be on the losing side of wars and they love-them-some Strong Man to tell them what to do.

Hell... they have as much fun killing each other ( Sunni and Shia ) as they do when killing Jews or Christians or pagans.

Islam... the largest surviving Warrior Religion with many built-in excuses and allowances for violence and war against infidels.

Islam... a re-awakened and re-empowered and re-militarized Islam... a cancer on the face of Mankind... is driving the conflict.

Nonsense. There has never been a time since the seventh century when the Arabs were willing to live in peace with the Jews and other Non Muslims. This is what is driving the conflict today and what has driven it since the first days of Islamic civilization.

It’s very simple, Islam not only wants to take back everything it controlled in the past such as Spain and parts of Europe, but spread and completely control the rest of the world. And it has openly declared that it will do so by any means necessary.

I think the church played a big part in that particular conflict, and they still are today. St the least it's being used to justify some of it.

I can't imagine why you would think that. Every Muslim state since the seventh century has been an apartheid state with separate laws for Jews and other Non Muslims that allowed for their persecution and humiliation. Whatever Christians have been guilty of doing to the Jews over the centuries is irrelevant to what the Arabs have done and are doing to Jews.

The Muslims began their invasions of Europe at the beginning of the eighth century, and while their most notable conquest was Spain, the Muslims attacked all of southern Europe, so that nearly all of the European nations had been engaged for centuries trying to expel the Muslim invaders before they were driven back so the Crusades were just one more group of battles in this centuries old war.

The European conquest of the New World is an enttirely different matter.
