What do think of Alan Partridge, his humour?

The Brit humour can be quite heavy going to those outside of the UK. One particular funny heavy going comedian is Alan Partridge (Steve Coogan). Is he popular in the states or been on TV etc..?






His comedy when he lived in the hotel was probably the best, here's one clip -
