Not wanting to get into the gun debate issue , but more into the psychological aspect of it.... I just wanted to point out that serial killers prefer personal contact with victims by beating, stabbing or strangling like posted by the OP...serial killers like to "personalize" their crimes with hands on contact ....having said that, serial killers are not bound by any firm rules about how they pursue their victims.

Ted Bundy seemed to be the most charismatic serial killer in history. The pop-culture babes loved him. Ed Gein was the most colorful though. When his mommy died and he was left alone he decided to bring mommy back home. He dug up his mother and got to like it. When investigators entered his house they found all sorts of artfully displayed body parts. Dahmer was a nut case but he managed to get on the wrong side of the system when he murdered Black homosexuals. The prison system saved society a lot of money when they placed Dahmer in a room with a Black maniac who beat him to death with a weight bar.

The Constitution and case law are clear. The Government has no legal right to ban "assault" weapons. Further they have no facts to back up their insistence it is needed.

The only legal right the Government has for restricting rights is for a "COMPELLING National" reason. None exists with supposed "assault weapons" very few murders are committed with them. Less then 400 murders were committed with ANY type of rifle in the last year statistics are available for. Of that a very small number would have been the supposed "assault rifle" type.

And the Supreme Court has held since 1939 that Military style weapons are EXACTLY what the 2nd protects, they further refined that the 2nd is an INDIVIDUAL right.

My mistake. The Zodiac Killer and Richard Ramirez both STABBED some of their victims to death AND SHOT some of their victims to death.

Charles Whitman had an undetected brain tumor, which contributed to his rampage.

Neither Oswald or Whitman used "assault weapons". They both used semi-automatic, bolt-action rifles. The "Beltway Snipers" used a Bushmaster XM-15 semi-automatic rifle that fired .223 ammo. It was NOT an "assault weapon", because it did not have a full-automatic mode.

REAL "assault weapons" are switchable between semi automatic and fully automatic. I've seen PAINT BALL GUNS that LOOK LIKE "assault weapons", but they obviously are not.

The point of my list is that we all know about the serial killers and mass murderers who use firearms to kill their victims, thanks to the news media and gun control nuts. But we rarely, if ever, hear about the MASSIVE list of serial killers and mass murderers who DO NOT use firearms to kill their victims.

Neither Oswald or Whitman used "assault weapons". They both used semi-automatic, bolt-action rifles. The "Beltway Snipers" used a Bushmaster XM-15 semi-automatic rifle that fired .223 ammo. It was NOT an "assault weapon", because it did not have a full-automatic mode.

REAL "assault weapons" are switchable between semi automatic and fully automatic. I've seen PAINT BALL GUNS that LOOK LIKE "assault weapons", but they obviously are not.

The point of my list is that we all know about the serial killers and mass murderers who use firearms to kill their victims, thanks to the news media and gun control nus. But we rarely, if ever, hear about the MASSIVE list of serial killers and mass murderers who DO NOT use firearms to kill their victims.

Oswald and Whitman may not have used "assault weapons" by the modern definition, but they were certainly military weapons which were used as assault weapons during WWII.

In any case, the point of my comment was to highlight that guns have indeed been used for mass murders (however you define that) and that means exactly nothing to the current gun debate...just as your post does. It means diddly. Neither my post, or yours, proves a damn thing.
