Really, what do liberals wants?
* Do they want us to get out of debt? When? How? By raising taxes by 30%? We're now $17 trillion in debt. Yet, every time anyone proposes some modest spending cuts, liberals engage in shameful demagoguery and act like the poor will starve and the elderly will be kicked to the streets.
* Do they ever want to see the federal budget balanced? We're surely not going to erase a nearly $1 trillion operating deficit by simply raising taxes. That would suck the life out of the economy.
* Do they ever want the federal government to have a reserve fund, like many states do? Well, we can't even think about setting up a reserve fund until we get out of debt and balance the budget.
* Why do they smear the very governors who have balanced their budgets without confiscatory taxation and who have increased their state's reserve fund? All the governors who have balanced their budgets via fiscal restraint and not via huge tax hikes, and who have increased their state's reserve fund--all of those governors happen to be Republicans
