Even though "Money For Nothing" charted higher? A little factoid here. Weird Al Yanckovic, known for spoofing nearly every song imaginable wanted to spoof this to the lyrics of The Beverly Hillbillies. Now, it's required to get permission from the original artist before a song is spoofed. Mark Knopfler wouldn't allow Weird Al to spoof "Money for Nothing" unless Knopfler himself did the iconic guitar riff. Guess what? He did.
