What American bands have the most catchy melodies ?

and get up and dance. We all know about ACDC from Australia, Rush from Canada and the endless list of European musicians , mostly British rock bands--Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, Queen...--but this is for American musicians only.

The first few that come to mind for me are ZZ Top, Aerosmith, Van Halen, The Doors and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Rest in peace Ronnie Montrose...didn't forget you brother.

I've always loved the Doors. Poetry set to music. I'm also a big Grateful Dead fan. They had the best live sound of any band I've heard. Not really dancing music but I recall swaying for hours.
