I was at the doctor today, and the fellow said that my LDL was too high at about 116 and I should take Crestor statin pills.

New doctor to me in a new office, the Jew I went to for 30 years is retired.

Anyhoo, I looked back at my previous blood work in this category after I got back home.

My LDL was 112 and 113 when it was checked years ago, and both the PCP and cardiologist never suggested this.

I'm feeling fine, so needless to say I'm not going to take this shit.

New pills can give you more grief totally unrelated to the situation. I'll be nice when I'm on the phone tomorrow to this new doc, but the fact that I lived to the ancient age I have gives me a lot of confidence in the opinion of the Jew who saw the same information and wasn't concerned.

I'm allergic. No pill shortcuts for me. Major diet adjustments.

My diet is fine.

Lots of Taco Bell, kielbasi, perogies. Premium food.
My BIL was having some heart issues and his doc put him on Statins. He said they made him feel like dog poop so he quit taking them and his doc said "well if you're not going to take them then there's nothing I can do for you."

I haven't had any heart issues. This doc I saw today based his assessment on lab results. If the statins made your BIL feel like shit,I'm glad I already decided not to take them .

This is OT, but why do you call one a doctor and the other a Jew?

My previous doctor was an adherent of the Jewish faith, IOW , a Jew.

I don't know what religion this current doctor is.

It's the Taco Bell that's getting to ya. Maybe cut back to once a week....preferrably once a month or less.

But bad LDL has to do with plaque build up and could lead to stroke or heart attack, even if you feel just fine now....them little cheewaawahs are doing a number on ya.

If you don't want to take meds for it, then look into dietary changes or other more natural forms of treatment.......you don't have to neccessarily make those changes overnight, but by including more healthy plaque busting options here & there is a good start.

if you take statins take CQ10 along with it....statins deplete the CQ10 in the body which can cause body aches ...so replace it....no body aches....

You need both Systolic and Diastolic readings and these need relating to your gender and age ,
I wish my own Systolic read- out was 112-- 116

DYOR re. Statins .
I view them as dangerous and imho. the scientific support for that is clear .
There are far better ways of lowering Cholesterol and much , much safer , imho .

Self evident .

Yet you claim to support the Covid vaccine.
What a fraud and silly person you are Decrappy
What the actual **** are you babbling about?

What possible relationship can you be hallucinating between me being allergic to statins and supporting covid vaccines?

You are so ghod-damned stupid I can't imagine what a face to face conversation with you would be like.

Probably full of "er"s and "um"s with the occasional "**** you ******" and nazi salute thrown in for variety.

Now wipe your chin you window-licking moron.

You are an embarrassment to the forum.

Systolic and diastolic refers to blood pressure.

He's talking about lipid levels, not blood pressure, window-licker.

Plaque results from poor digestion. The scum/plaque on the back of your tongue is an indicator. The remedy, don't overeat, and thoroughly chew your food into the consistency of porridge before swallowing. Your body will thank you.

My bad cholesterol was very low but my doctor wanted me on statins, I found a new doctor.

Went for a tick bite (it was a spider bite) and because of my heart history the ED cardiologist ran me through a heart exam, then changed my statin from 40 mg to 80 mg claiming it was the 'new regimen'. My regular doctor was puzzled as I was doing fine on 40 mg. and changed it back. Soon after I stopped taking all the meds that were prescribed to me. That was years ago. Still doing fine.

Glad to hear it, I like doctors that will work with me and not just prescribe meds to mask symptoms.
