I can imagine the Dutch squadron sitting somewhat demoralized in Gibraltar after their negotiations with the pirates failed and the absolute elation when the British fleet showed up with orders to blow up Algiers. Must have felt pretty great to head back to Algiers with an entire British fleet and playing a role in the complete and utter smackdown that occurred afterwards.
