Crops rotting in the field, and soon, much higher prices for produce. As the crackdown on undocumented workers affects the harvest, we will soon see a shortage of produce everywhere in our nation. It was inevitable from the start. Tariffs plus removing half the workforce for harvesting our crops was only a good idea to idiots like Trumpanzees.

Then go pick them yourself.

Then you could make $19.97 per hour and quit sitting there bitching about Trump.

AI Overview

In California, migrant farmworkers' salaries vary, but the average hourly pay is around $18.48. This translates to roughly $38,445 annually. However, these figures can fluctuate based on factors like experience, specific crops, and whether they are employed under the H-2A guest worker program.

Pick crops for 19.97 pet hour? No american should be doing that. Make the starting wage 29.97.

Shit. I was a commercial bricklayer in the later 70's and early 80's, and the scale was about $13.00 an hour. Then I went to college at nights, got an Associate's Degree, and worked as an electronic bench tech for a little over that pay scale, but it was inside work.

Now I'm retired but working part time running a POS system at a convenience store for $15.50 an hour.

Nobody should complain about making $19.97 an hour.
