I put this in TV, because streaming/youtube etc. are all synonymous with "TV".

Non political videos of people simply doing their jobs, video taping it - and they get 100,000s of views - some even into the millions.
Why do we like these?

post10 - the most enthusiastic drain unclogger in the history of drain unclogging.
32 MILLION views.

Now 32 million people have learned how to unclog drains in this manner. It;s that simple. People watch those videos because it teaches them how to do things they don't know. There's also lots of videos that teach people that the bad guy always hesitate in a fight so the good guy can kick their ass.

I'm subscribed to bunches of DIY creators. Everything from wood turning to lawn care to homesteading to food canning to healthy dieticians to mechanics, etc. etc. I haven't watched network/legacy television for more than 10 years. I prefer to relax watching regular people doing regular things minus all the politics, strife, wars, and chaos.

Similar here. People (and a minority, at that) may post in conversation on politics on this board, but in actuality, it is doubtful their lives actually revolve around it.
