They said we were kings in Africa, which is an affluent yet ridiculous statement. The chances of any member of a Black royal family ever ending up on a slave ship are slim. Historically, after the defeat of an army or nation, members of the royal family did not become slaves—they were either killed on the spot, castrated, tortured as examples to the conquered people, or held as hostages. They never had as much freedom as a slave. Has any poster on this board ever claimed otherwise? I'm curious.

The OP needs to read up about Africa.

I will have to check into that.

Such a slaves would be a very dangerous investment. Someone with the ability and charisma of a king could unite the enslaved population, leading to a rebellion. I find it hard to believe that any sea captain or plantation owner would knowingly purchase such an individual—it would be far too risky. Moreover, it would be difficult for someone of royal lineage to conceal their origins. The way they were raised, their demeanor, and their bearing would inevitably reveal their status to any observant individual."
