Watched Airplane II: The Sequel tonight.........

After a bit of experience, I'm not into sequels. It probably was Jaws 2 movies back in the late 70's that finally kicked me of the habit.

Well, APII can never be as good as the original for the simple reason that the original movie was the first, with no precedent, and the second movie was really just the same story, the same story vehicle just told a new way; it was just built off the first movie.

One scene I particularly liked was when the airport got into trouble and the guy gets onto his TV monitor to call up his commander for help, which turns out to be William Shatner. As Shatner is responding on the screen, you hear beeps and noises from the starship Enterprise. Finally, the camera pans back away from the monitor screen and it reveals itself really just as the window in a door and Shatner opens it walking in with a deadpan face.

That part just kills me.
