When we have a new Republican President & a chickenshit pathetic Republican Senate, why waste time on confirmation hearings? Trump put up so really horrible cabinet picks. DeVos, Session, Price, etc etc.

Regardless of all the reasons presented why these people should not be confirmed, the Republicans in the Senate confirmed them & will confirm all of them.

i think it is mainly for the record. making the vp break a tie to confirm a cabinet pick for the first time is also a statement.

If little Prince Harry Reid hadn't changed the Senate rules to go from needing 60 votes for confirmation to a simple majority maybe the left could have stopped some of these picks fairly silly to blame the Republicans for the lefts shortsightedness. I wonder how many on the left truly considered the consequences of Ried wanting to make that change?
