Ukrainian drones coming from Russian airspace hit stuff in Estonia and Latvia.
"Two drones entered Estonian and Latvian airspace from Russia. Investigations revealed they were misdirected Ukrainian aircraft. No one was injured.
In both EU and NATO member states, a drone crashed near the border with Russia. The drones were misdirected Ukrainian aircraft, according to authorities in Estonia and Latvia during their investigations into the incidents. They were reportedly deployed by Kyiv to attack Russian targets in the Gulf of Finland. No one was injured in the crashes.
Government and military officials from both countries emphasized that Estonia and Latvia were not the intended targets. They believe the drones deviated from their course or were misdirected by Russian electronic countermeasures. Statements from Tallinn and Riga further asserted that there was no danger to the public.
Power plant hit in Estonia
In Estonia, a drone collided with the chimney of the Auvere power plant in Ida-Virumaa County. No damage was apparently reported. The government convened a special cabinet meeting in response to the incident. Russia and Estonia share a nearly 300-kilometer border, which is part of NATO's external border.
