Walt Disney’s “Song of the South”

They really are great

And all are based on fairy tales that black people brought to America from Africa

They are all teaching basic truths. I love Brer Rabbit. Please, please don't throw me in that briar patch.

I had to move heaven & earth to get a VHS copy of SOTS in early 90s ( prior to eBay and Youtube and other options that emerged with internet )
10 years ago my friend paid $600 for a book of uncle Remus stories.

He's a national treasure. These woke people whatever that means are infuriating.

I got lucky and found it on Amazon. I'm guessing that it was probably a bootleg copy but who cares as I wasn't the one selling it. Anyways, adorable flick and such a shame that most kids won't ever be able to see it these days.

I was just getting ready to watch this film again and thinking that it's funny that libs towards us whenever we get offended "well if you don't like it then don't waaaatch it!!" However if they get offended by something that we enjoy watching for absolutely no reason whatsoever then we can no longer watch it.

Or ride it because they ruined Splash Mountain too. It's completely ridiculous and I'm sick of it. Just leave us and the classics alone already and flip off. 😡

What a stupid thing to say. Everyone loves Song of the South, Uncle Remus and the beer rabbit characters.
Not everyone

Millions of libs wanted it taken off the air and it was for 20 years

I still don't really get what's so racist about it with the exception of the tar baby part as that's a tad bit racist but mostly it's just history. :dunno:

picked a copy up a year ago.

Heard it got heat because some people couldn't handle slaves singing while they work.

Disney's Song of the South was last released in theaters in 1986 and has since been pulled from circulation.

The film has never been released on home video in the United States, though it has been available for purchase in Europe and Asia. It has also been screened on the Disney Channel in the US.

/—-/ I watched it as a kid. I never understood what the libs were complaining about. Same thing with Amos & Andy.

Black friends have talked about Little Black Sambo.. They loved it growing up because Sambo outsmarted the tiger and turned him into butter.
