Admire your intentions .
But a 23 minute video is too long for this audience .
Yet you imagine that old and fat ( many) people are going to give up 150 minutes ?
The start was hardly encouraging -- Krugman's thought that people will not popularise the internet because they have almost nothing to say to each other .
Krugman was essentially spot on .
People do have nothing to say .
But clearly it does not bother them .And they have no idea how stupid they are --- 95%+ under 120 IQ etc
The beginning of this interview actually touches on some topics from an interview they did a couple weeks ago (this is the 2nd interview)
I'm not sure where krugman came into this...these two really talked about AI briefly but mostly about health and food relations.
One of the things that stuck out to me is that, whether you are fat or not is, in many regards, genetic, but not from a physiological standpoint, but from a psychological one. Concienciousness and food drive are the biggest indicators of obesity, and some of that can actually be handed down through the genes.
I also found it interesting that, rich or poor doesn't matter. A rich person, most would think, would tend to be more lean and poor to be more fat, but that's not the case. Rich people, if they have low conciencousness and high food drive, will end up at the same place as a poor person. They have the ability to eat better, but without the right decisions and with a high food drive, they just end up buying the more expensive junk food.
They show how eating is largely psychological. A person with a high food drive will eat an entire bag of chips, where a person with low food drive, food isn't that big of a deal, and can eat 1 or 2 chips and be done.
I'm not scientist and I can't say I know a lot about it but I found it interesting, especially since I was thinking about this a few months back. It just occurred to me that we could change a lot of behavior if we changed how people look at food. Rather than seeing food as a comfort thing, or "I'm hungry what can I eat that will fill me up", rather, think of it like "what can I eat to properly fuel my body, for maximum energy, and best health". Unfortunately, pizza exists, and blows all that out of the water.....why do they have to make some food taste so damn good?!
