The CNC survey (Columbia) showed that 72% viewed the arrest as "favorable," far exceeding the 25% who viewed it as "unfavorable." When asked who they would vote for if an election were held, Machado garnered support with 57%, beating the current vice president by 11%. Machado is all set to become the next president of Venezuela after she gave Trump the gold medal of her Nobel Peace Prize.

Machado, who won the 2025 Nobel for her fight against Venezuela's authoritarianism, gave Trump the gold medal and plaque as thanks for U.S. support, including the recent capture of Nicolás Maduro on drug charges. She compared it to Simón Bolívar receiving a George Washington medal from the Marquis de Lafayette two centuries ago. Trump called it a wonderful gesture of mutual respect, while the Nobel Center noted medals can change hands but laureate titles cannot. Reactions ranged from praise as validation of his leadership to criticism as flattery.
