Coming from the USA Today, that is a rather extraordinary article. They are about as progressive as they come. Right up there with that televised mental asylum called MSNBC.

Yeah, it's suspicious that they all turned on a dime at the same moment.

It is still possible that they did this intentionally to justify putting a pitch hitter in who was more to their liking.

I suspect over these next few weeks these party leaders along with their major money contributors will decide whether or not to pick a replacement for Biden. I see them in the same situation as Trump is in picking his choice for Vice President. They both need to come up with some dolt that will mindlessly march to their tune.

For the Democrats running the show, Biden has been the perfect dolt. Much like Pence was until he grew a backbone and saw it his duty to man up on that January 6th.

It's because there is no way to spin it positively or pretend it was a faked or edited video. We knew it was very likely that Quid Pro would do exactly what he did when being on the spot for over an hour with no teleprompter, no aides to block questions or hustle him off stage, and no naps. A leader's mental decline can be hidden for a while, but under those conditions, it's hard to hide.

The second debate is very much up in the air right now, given that he had a week to totally focus on preparing for the first one. I see him arguing that he can do it if he has another chance, but the party saying no, they need to find an excuse to get out of it.

And therein lies their difficulty. They need him to agree to release his delegates, but with his mind this far gone, that's not a given. A battle between him and the party would doom them this fall, from the top of the ticket to the bottom.
