U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts on Wednesday paused a federal judge's order requiring President Donald Trump's administration to pay foreign aid funds to contractors and grant recipients.

Roberts issued an interim order placing on hold Washington-based U.S. District Judge Amir Ali's action that had imposed a deadline of 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday night.

Supreme Court to the rescue. Let the whining and name calling resume.

The lying District Court judge claimed his TRO could order payment of $2 billion*. But TRO's don't order payments, a permanent injunction would.

And the court refused an injunction bond in violation of Rule 65(c), to wit: The court may issue a preliminary injunction or a temporary restraining order only if the movant gives security in an amount that the court considers proper to pay the costs and damages sustained by any party found to have been wrongfully enjoined or restrained. (emphasis added).

But because TRO's are not generally appealable, the lying Biden appointee refused an injunction, which is appealable. He is highly likely to get smacked down, maybe Roberts et al. will order the matter be heard at the DC Circuit Court** first, but he is going to get smacked down eventually.

* The government DID NOT consent to being sued in the Distict Court, thus the matter belongs in the Court of Claims.

** Three hacks in black robes in the DC Circuit Court refused to stay the District Court order, thus playing along with the sham the judge perpetrated.
